baby is struggling

My baby was born at 33 weeks through emergency section and had to be put on a breathing tube and can't breathe on his own they have tried to take him off but he gets very distressed and his heart rate drops and takes a long time to recover and has to be put back on a breathing tube. Has anyone else been through this as I'm worried out of my mind.
