Healing crochet butterfly

Briolette111 • Waiting for the rainbow
We were so excited to be pregnant. So. Excited. We told some family and a couple of friends right away. We started talking names and guessing if it'd be a boy or girl. Or one of each! I started a baby blanket. I only got this far by the time I miscarried. (See top half of pic)
I thought about finishing it and keeping it for the baby that we would hopefully conceive in the not so distant future. But I didn't want to be reminded of loss each time it was wrapped around our happy baby. I thought about giving it to one of the several friends who had just had babies within the past few weeks. But that just seemed... No. I didn't want to do that. So I decided to make a butterfly. A healing butterfly that represents the fluttery fleeting life inside of me that is gone way too soon. And believe it or not, it feels a little like closure, and a lot like a hug.  💛 love and butterfly hugs to you all as you go through your own heartbreaking loss. May we all find the closure and the comfort we need.
