To scared

I'm suppose to start my period yesterday. But it never came, I have been having some symptoms that I would be having of I was pregnant. So I took a digital test a few days ago and it said negative. Now I'm to scared to take another. I have never been late, I mean not even by one day. What if I'm not pregnant. I have been hoping for another baby for almost a year now. I know I have to suck it up and take the test again but I'm thinking I will wait a few more days. I just can't deal with the chance of it saying negative, it would be like losing hope all over again.
