do I need to time Braxton hicks contractions?

I've been having pretty regular contractions, but they are not painful, just uncomfortable and my belly gets really tight. Should I bebtiming them or do they only count once they get closer together?

Background: I'm 38+5 and was 5cm dilated on Tuesday

Yes you need to time them it could be early labor. Drink plenty of water and start timing.

Why do you think they're Braxton hicks and not the real thing. If they are coming consistently and there's nothing you can do to stop them (laying a certain way, drinking a glass of water, etc) then I would consider this the real thing and you should keep track of them. You don't need to get to a hospital until they get closer together but still I would track them to see if it's coming consistently

Braxton hicks usually don't get consistent. I would be timing all of them at this point

Contractions can sometimes be not painful. I would start tracking if you're having more than four an hour.

Time them. If they are relatively close together, call your OB or Midwife to see if they want you to go on into the hospital!

Braxton hicks are not consistant. They do not have a consistant time between them or during them. 
The beginning of real contractions may not be painful and its best to monitor them. Since you are so close to your due date. I would be monitoring these as they sound like real contractions.
