My son fell on his face in his room and now has a rug burn.

My three year old fell on his face yesterday and now has a rug burn on his nose and a little under his eyebrow. It's red and around the nose area it's starting to look a little darker like scab. Is there anyone that have experienced this with their toddlers and if so what did you do to help rid the redness as well as scarring if any? Help because he goes back to school on Tuesday and I know kids have accidents but I would hate for anyone to think otherwise. I would insert a picture but he never sits still for a decent one 😔
