How Often Do Condoms Break?

Just wondering because I can't get other birth control for a while but I want to have sex with my boyfriend again but we've been waiting. Do you think we could just use condoms until next month when I can get other birth control or should I wait? What's the likelihood of them breaking? I'm 18 and a senior in high school btw.

If you're using condoms properly, checking expiration dates, storing them correctly, then they are perfectly safe to use with a very low failure rate. If it breaks, you'd know, and plan b is over the counter. But in general, I've been using condoms for years and only ever had one break on me.

Never, if used correctly and changed when needed. Never use natural oils like coconut oil. And if it's starts to get dry, change it. Make sure there's space at the top. All of those things are why condoms break. I think some brands might break easier than others. I don't really know cuz it's never happened to me and I've had multiple partners and used many different brands. You should be fine. Trojan and durex are both good. Maybe get some silicon or water based lube. As long as you're doing it correctly, you probably should be safe for a month.

I have been sexually active since I was 17. I have only ever had one break. When using condoms make sure that there is no trapped air as trapped can cause it to break.
