my 6m old is not allowed to cry when he's home.

My husband, my two sons (8y and 6m) and I are currently living at my father in laws house while we search for a home. It sucks not having our own space but what can we do? I appreciate my father in law for letting us stay here until we find our dream home but sometimes he's a real wanker. He had a serious talk with us about our son and his "constant fussing and crying". He wants us to keep our son from crying. He "understands it's difficult raising a baby like Micah" but he wants us to keep his crying to a minimum especially at night because it keeps him up. So pretty much my baby can't communicate with us in the only way he knows how. I'm beyond annoyed and frustrated. This man will tell us to hush all the time because he needs sleep but if my baby is sleeping he's so quick to make so much noise and say he doesn't care. I bite my tongue all the time but it's getting harder and harder 😡
