DNA testing and insurance

Michelle
Dr asked if I wanted testing done even though we are not considered high risk. I said I would love to. The reason is that this is a first and I want reassurance. Also bc I feel like you can never not be too prepared IF there is anything. And bc I think it would motivate us in a decision on a second baby. What would be the risks.
I know others do it bc of high risk. I know others do it bc they want to know what they are having.
After going home I did realize my 2 great aunts had some kind of mental issue. So does my one of my cousins. On my hubbys side one of his cousins has something but idk if that falls under anything. Especially when I had filled things out for the testing and my insurance, don't know how that will fall out.
So sick of my insurance being so picky when I just want my baby to be healthy and I just want to make sure.
My fear right now is getting a huge bill bc of it.
Curious to know how many of you chose to do it with no risks and insurance covered or didn't?
The test we used what called projevity I think.
