Circumcision?

Me and my SO cannot agree on whether we should have our son circumcised or not. He says yes, and I say no. So I'm wondering.. ladies whose bfs/husbands were not circumcised at birth, how do they feel about their foreskin? Do they wish they didn't have it? Have they gotten circumsized later in life? Do they not care either way?

It's okay to cut foreskin off of our baby boys, but if we take the clitoral hood (which is the same body part) off of our girls, it's mutilation. Logic. There's no reason to cut body parts off of our babies.

My husband is not circumcised and he absolutely prefers it that way. He has never had issues and has never been embarrassed or anything ( and I like it)  and if we ever have a son, he won't be getting circumcised.

It's not medically nesscary and if it's something my son wants later in life he can make that decision. It shouldn't be up to me I believe

Where I live it's never done. I don't know any boys/guys who ever had any problems and don't know anyone who had it done later in life. Men here also don't really have an opinion on their foreskin because it's as normal to have as any other bodypart.

My husband was all about circumcising our sons if/when we have any... and then I showed him that over 100 babies die from complications every year, and a video of how they do it. He doesn't feel the same way anymore and has questioned his mother about why she risked his life like that for something that is just cosmetic. He's circumcised and so are all the men in each of our families but our sons won't be. I told him if he wants it done he better hope I die in birth because I won't sign for it to be done as long as I'm alive and conscious. The US is really the only developed country where it's done routinely on newborns without medical need. And fewer and fewer parents are having it done every year, so I hope one day it's nonexistent or banned!

Dad has foreskin and baby will too. It's not considered normal to circumcise here.

I have two boys and didn't do it. Dr. Said there's no proof that one is better than the other. Plus it's not in my culture to alter a healthy baby.

No problems with it for either of my boys. If you do go ahead with it do it while he is a newborn don't wait bc the longer you wait the more comes into play. They will have to put them to sleep and they will be more aware of the pain. I'm glad I did and they both will thank me later. It doesn't take that long to heal and the nurses tell you everything you need to do with it. Good luck

I've been asking a lot of people,because I'm against it and husband is for it. All the guys I've asked that have been for it, have been circumcised.  They've all given me the same reason to do it : so they won't get made fun of later, and because of hygiene. The one guy I've asked who isn't circumcised, said he's never had any issues, and he has never had a moment where he wished he was. 
I'm torn. I would honestly rather just teach my child self confidence and hygiene, and leave his body be. 
I think not circumcisizing is a lot more common with the latest generation than it was in our generation. Between young people having kids and not being able to afford it, and older adults having kids and opting out because it's not medically necessary, I think circumcision isn't going to be the "norm" in this next generation.

None of the men in my family are circumcised and from what I understand they've never had any complications..  obviously it requires a little more care and decent hygiene... but they are all happy and healthy , infection free and zero regrets. .. my brothers fiance is quite happy as well.  It was a weird convo, but when I had my son I had to ask her if everything was good in that department bc my brother isn't circumcised. .. I ended up getting it done because my husband brow beat me into it and I regret it immensely.  It altered my son #1, his Penis was perfect and he ended up with complications.  My family was so mad at me! Given the choice again I would quickly say no thank you.  Each to their own.  It has to be something you both agree on.  I think either way is fine as long as your happy and comfortable with the procedure and end result.  Good luck
