Hot Flashes?

So just to start, I just want to say my periods have always been super irregular, changing in when they start and how they last. But the one thing I've never been able to relate to anyone else on with my periods is I get horrible hot flashes. Is this normal? It's usually on the first or second day kf my period, I get really bad cramps and more often than not I have hot flashes. Im only 18 so despite what google tells me, I don't think I'm going through menopause. Does anybody know what's going on? Should I see a doctor?
