Best time to do newborn photos?

First time mom and I want to do some newborn photos with my daughter who is 9 days old today. I am really lucky since my best friend is a photographer so I don't exactly have to get on a photographers schedule so we could pretty much do them anytime. Im curious what everyone thinks about the best time to do photos is. I've heard doing them earlier is better because babies will sleep more.

We had ours done at 9 days old. I wouldn't wait any longer - they are sleepy and easy to work with when they are younger!

we had mine done at the hospital 3 days after he was born. which was a great service the hospital provided.

My photographer likes to do them between 3-5 days old. We did them at 5 days and I'm glad because​ of how quickly he's growing! Other photographers I've researched suggested 5-10 days old. I'd get them done soon if you can, They're much more cooperative when they're littler, and grow so fast!

My MIL is a photographer and suggests newborn pics be done in the first 14 days, but the earlier the better.

The younger the better. They are so much more sleepy and bendy. It makes the photographers job so much easier. I would talk to you friend about scheduling them sooner then later.

I also was told within two weeks by our photographer.  Our LO was perfect for hers at 12 days old!

My photographer told me within the first 2 weeks is preferable so they will sleep through it and because there appearance changes so quickly. She also had some space heaters and a hot water bottle to make everything really warm which helped a bunch!
