6 months old

My son is 6 months old and still refuses to nap. He fights it and then I have to hold him for his nap otherwise he wakes up. I've tried putting him in his crib to see if he'll fall asleep on his own but he just gets too upset then I can't calm him down. Any tips for this desperate mom??
