Is this a security thing? He's a month old

The only way I can get him to sleep is when he gets done eating and he gets sleepy I'll give him the paci and he has to have me holding it in his mouth and while he holds my fingers or if I hold his hands.  If I don't do that he fusses like you would not believe.

Have you tried swaddling? babies flail so much they keep themselves up and they like the security of being I tighter spaces as it reminds them of the womb. It might help soothe your LO and free up your hands

My one month old loves me to hold her hands down. I just lay my hand on hers while her hands are on her chest. I think she enjoys it cause her arms done fling up in the air while in holding them. Try swaddling. To hold their arms down.

I think it is a security thing. My twins like to sleep with one of my hands on their face. From someone outside looking in, it probably looks like I'm mushing them in the face to make them quiet LOL

My son is the same way. He likes to hold my finger or lay his hand on mine while I hold his binky. He doesn't have to have me doing it to sleep but he does seem to sleep easier when I do that.

My daughter is a clingy baby too, I swaddle her and put a muslin in her hand and pacifier in and put a natural sound cd on (like rain forest noises) 
Failing that... I just let her sleep in my bed and enjoy the fact she wants to be with her mum!
