What type of cereal do you mamas use?

Starting to get interested in introducing cereal these next few weeks. Just wondering what the best type is and what you use for your babes?

Skipping cereal due to no nutrional value and now they are saying arsenic is in it, plus we will be doing baby led weaning

Using rice cereal based on doc recommendation.  By the way, me being a first time mom I really thought rice cereal was like Rice Krispies puffs but it's like cream of wheat consistency - I did not get it lol.

My doctor recommend we skip it. There's no reason to feed it. Any possible benefit can be found in fruits and veggies and is so much better for them.

My doctor said rice cereal is a good first solid since it's fortified with iron while other foods aren't and they still need a lot of iron that they'd be getting from their formula or breastmilk. Although everyone here claims it's the devil, what she said makes sense. It's not nutritionally void, it's not the best thing for them, but it has plenty of benefits like getting them used to solids and providing that iron if they aren't getting as much formula.

None. And I was just reading about it. It says that babies cannot digest grains, it's not a good idea to feed them that.

Her pediatrician said we can try as many as we want, one new one a week.

We're just sticking with the one though, because it's more just for fun/practice for now anyway. She still won't take more than a 4oz bottle at a time and is growing like a weed so he said there's no real NEED either to fill her up nor boost calories.

Thanks everyone. I was looking to see what mom's were using- the ones using it. Not whether or not too. I've read articles and wanted to see. We weren't planning on using it but I was curious.
