first IUI what do I expect??

Hello ladies! I am having my first IUI cycle when I start my next period (end of March)....I've heard SO many ppl saying it doesn't happen on the first try? We have zero problems on either side, just haven't gotten pregs fro whatever reason. Should I be optimistic at all? Anyone gotten pregnant on their first IUI?? Feeling defeated before we even start..... thanks

Most fertility clinics quote a 10-15% success rate within 3 iuis. Not per iui but collectively 3. It's one of those things. Most couples have a 25% chance each month of achieving pregnancy when they don't have infertility. My husband and I were unexplained. So all normal tests. My doctor although that may seem like there is no problem there must be or you wouldn't be going to a fertility doctor. It's just unexplained, that haven't figured out why. We tried 3 iuis didn't get pregnant then did 3 ivf cycles and now I'm 30 weeks.

We have no medical problems on either side and had no problem getting pregnant with out first son. My first 2 iuis failed and my third ended in a chemical.

I don't think that's always true. Some people it works on the first try. My dr told me if it's going to it will happen in 3 times of trying. We did 5 before moving to IVF but we knew why it wasn't working for us. Good luck to you. Just try and relax happy thoughts
