Wouldn't it be nice??

Wouldn't it so much easier and honestly peaceful  if people didn't chose to use religion as a reasoning for certain things ( gay marriage, abortions.. Ect) being wrong? I'm so tired of people saying "well in the bible it says this" so it must be true. I truly wish people would make decisin without religion. I know it's wishful thinking but still it's nice to image a world without it.

Why should religious people downplay their beliefs? They have a right to voice their opinions just like non religious people. If you don't agree you don't agree but you can't have your opinion and not allow others to have theirs.

I really wish people would stop posting bs anonymously but you don't see me making posts about it! I bring religion into things that I see fit, seeing as I'm a Christian & it is my belief! I think everything in the bible is true. However I don't follow it to a T because it's impossible. I'm also not one to shove my beliefs down people's throats. 
My god, this is like me saying that all atheists or non Christians shouldn't comment on anything that would bring their beliefs or whatever into it. I see just as much of that as I do religious people commenting about their beliefs.

I think the poster is trying to say they wish people wouldn't souly base their decisions on religion or the bible? 
That being said I to wish people wouldn't base their decisons on things souly on the bible or religious views.  
I'm a abortion doula and you wouldn't believe how many " religious" people throw pictures and call absurd names to my clients as they walk into the abortion clinic. That I cannot stand for. Be religious but don't ridicule someone for making a decision they feel it's the best for them.

Everyone can have their opinions regarding certain things. However when you use your beliefs to impose restrictions on others it's wrong. Personally the world would be so much better off without religion. Imagine where we would be, how evolved and advanced society could become without it.

As a Christian, I whole-heartedly wish that biblical text wasn't incorrectly and foolishly cited in order to express one's opinion. This gives Christians such a negative image as intolerant and uneducated, when really so many just don't take the time to really dig into scripture and learn what it's really speaking to.

It's definitely wishful thinking. I get people have their own opinions as to why they think it's wrong, and it's fine if they personally wouldn't go for something because it's against their belief, but after it gets to the point where it's something like voting to illegalize abortions because it's against THEIR religion I get testy. Sure awesome just cuz you don't like it doesn't mean make it unavailable for everyone that doesn't share your belief. Other than that whatever you wanna do with your religion go for it, but if you use the bible as an argument piece you better stick to it 100%. Meaning no clothes of different fabrics and all the Mumbo jumbo in it.

I don't mind people believing in the bible and structuring their personal lives around it. I have an issue with the flagrant lack of respect for freedom of religion when self-professed Christians try to limit the rights of others based on what the bible says. That's a straight up contradiction to the freedom of religion they are quick to claim.

On the other foot, a religious person could feel the same way, that it would be so much more peaceful if there were no gay marriages, abortions ect. In seeing that feelings are similar but yet the opinion is different may help you come to acceptance. We're all alike; trying to figure out this life. We see things different which is what helps us grow and learn. If we all had the se view point, what would our world be like?
