Is it acceptable to have a majority of guy friends than women?

Question

The reason why I'm asking this is to prove a point. I have 5 male friends who I can totally and utterly trust and 3 female friends that I can classify under the same notion.

Lately I've been getting a lot of judgement for having the friends that I do, and it's sickening. I love my friends, but that doesn't mean I'll get down on my knees and suck them off. That's what practically my entire school thinks and I hate it so much. Granted, I do have an interest in dating 2 of the guys, but I'm not rushing anything and I'm not just their friend because I want to date them.

All five of us have been friends since we were Elementary students and nothing has ever changed.

I get along better with guys than I do with girls.  Majority of the people I associate with are guys as well.

All of my friends are guys. Literally all of them. I never had girl friends as a kid really, and I really just preferred guys anyways. I'm a very....odd person, when it comes to my sense of humor and what entertaines me. And I sorta just connect with guys better

Hon, girls are hella difficult to be friends with sometimes, especially during early teenage years. In sixth grade, I stopped trying so hard to find girl friends and became close friends with these two guys (interestingly enough, years later I find out that both of them were gay- a rare occurrence at my school). They were both super chill and there was zero drama, a relief after five years of frenemies and minor bullying. Still, I missed being able to have girl talk, and so I think it's great that you've got a mixture of guy friends and girl friends- as long as they are all good to you, then there's nothing at all wrong with your friend situation!  I'm kinda jealous - I've never been able to get a balance of close girl and guy friends

Who cares about what other people think? My friends are chosen based off of character and nothing else. If y'all are super close then that's all there is to it.

My main group of friends is 4 girls and 6 guys, so I totally understand where you're coming from. And for some reason, every new place I go, I only make new guy friends, whether it be at a sports event or a party. I have established my nature around my classmates, so I don't get the rumors, but I have heard terrible things from people I don't know and pass by when I'm just trying to have fun and hang out with my friends. But out of all the friends I could ever choose from, my guys are the best of them! And nobody's nasty comments can change what makes me happy! Embrace what makes you have fun, and ignore anyone who would ever try to put down your amazing friends!

Yep. When I was in high school, the majority of my friends were guys. My best friend was (and still is) a girl, but my other friends were guys.
