Any of your newborns have jaundice and have to be In the bilibim bed or blanket?

Yes! My baby had jaundice after he was born because of an interaction of our different blood types. He wasn't under blue lights at the hospital because his numbers weren't high. He got tested at his 1st check up at 4 days old and his level shot up to 15 so the hospital rented me a bili blanket so he could be under the blue lights 24 hours a day. Also fed him as often as possible so he could poop out the bile. He used the blanket for 3 days and after that his numbers started going down on their own. The Doctor let me know that he would still look a little yellow for possibly a month because of exclusively breastfeeding. Breastmilk jaundice. Perfectly safe though!

My son was 8.8 when we left the hospital no blanket or bed while we were there. The next day we had our first appt and he was at 11.7 and ped said it was OK until he got 15 or higher. He looks better. I had a vacuum assisted c section bc he was high in my ribs and wouldn't come down...

My baby's levels were 5.2 and they let us go home that day. She's still a little yellow after 10 days but doctor said it's normal in breast feed babies but I still put her by the window for a few hours a day and that made a huge difference!

Thankfully we didn't have to use the bed or blanket. He had his foot pricked 5 times in 10 days though to check his levels. Basically constant feeding helped.

My newborn was born so fast his entire face was bruised which caused his bilirubin to rise super fast. He was under the lights for 24hrs and I was feeding him constantly to get him pooping. Our discharge was delayed 2 days. Thank god the hospital let me stay in my room after I was discharged for those 2 days so I could feed him. When we took him home his level was 10.4 and on friday was 7!! Good luck!!
