Why exactly would a doctor tell you that you can't have sex during pregnancy?

My doctor said I shouldn't have sex as I have had a miscarriage in November...but why? I miscarried early...if my uterus is ok n my cervix is competent why? It's been almost two weeks and I need an attitude adjustment!

4-5 months is a long time to be told not to have sex at all. Did you ask your doctor why they suggested this? That's really the only way you would know the reasoning behind it.

Maybe just a precaution..and maybe they meant pelvic rest where even an orgasm from oral is not "allowed" .. people sometimes bleed and maybe your doctor doesn't want you to worry over nothing so waiting til after the first trimester is why he said that
