Hubby and I disagree on discipline.

Who would have thought? My husband and I disagree on discipline. My husband and I have been together for 8 years and we have a 9 month old daughter. We were both brought up in households that spanked the children.  A close friend asked us if we were going to whoop our lo when she gets older if need be. I said, yes, hubby said, no. You should have seen the look on my face. The "wtf are you talking about?" I have family members who don't and others who do. And let me tell you, the children that don't get spanked are out of control! Also, I work in education and you can tell the difference between the students whose parents discipline them with spankings and those who "talk things out." For those that don't get spanked, the outcome? A snobby, entitled child who has no respect for others. (Not all, but most). I am standing my ground. I will be spanking my child. The issue is getting my husband to agree. We can't be on different pages with discipline. Advice?
