Did you get an epidural?

What are your thoughts on getting an epidural? Did you want to get it? Need to get it becaus of pain? Or not want it no matter what!

I've had 2 With and 1 without and I rather have a natural birth with this pregnancy it's definitely going to natural

I was playing it by ear. The contractions got so bad that I needed the epidural. Thankfully I did since I was in labor for 18 hours . I would have never been able to handle that pain for such a long period of time

I had 2 with and 3 without epidurals are not for me my discs in my back are too close together  so they always have to poke me about 20 times and use an extra long needle I still have back issues from it and I had the worst spinal headaches for like a month after giving birth

I went in with an open mind. I was in labor for 26 hours. After 6 hours they gave me pitocin and at 20 hours in i couldnt take the back labor any longer. I got the epidural and 6 hours later my son was born.  Im glad i did it the way i did. I was able to walk around, do as i pleased for the first 20 hours. Im glad that i didnt bedrid myself sooner because even though youre numb, laying there is very uncomfortable

I don't like the thought of it slowing down the labour and increased risk of a c section. With my first I had pethidine, second and third I was too far gone to have anything but gas and air which I don't like as it makes me feel sick so went completely natural and I intend to go natural this time around as I know they won't let me have anything

Yea at first I didnt want one , but after awhile I couldnt take it any more I was in labor for 22hrs and they didnt give me the epidural till I was like 16 hrs into labor.

I say no way and not because I'm being a martyr or judgemental but because I'm terrified of that needle. I can't even look when they're putting an IV in I can't even contemplate a needle in my spine 😱😱😱

Yes, I wanted to get it. I was 15 and terrified. With our next which we plan on ttc within this year, I'm going to try and go all natural. I cannot handle pain but I'm going to try for the experience!

I had about one day during my whole pregnancy that I thought about doing it naturally. I decided on an epidural and am SO glad I did. I could still move my legs enough to switch sides when I needed to. I couldn't feel the contraction pain at all. I could feel the pressure when it was time to push but not the pain. It was so enjoyable. And at the end, my daughter was born healthy and almost pain free. It made the entire experience enjoyable and less stressful for me personally!
