6 hour flight next week tips ?

Hey I'm going to California next week with my 5 month old baby. It will be just the two of us my husband will be driving us to the airport 2 hours away and the flight will be 6 hours any tips first time flying with her. I'm planning on checking in the stroller and car seat at the gate but I will be carrying her. Anyone that has any advice it will be greatly appreciated I'm so nervous.

I agree with the car seat tip. I didn't pay for an extra seat; I just brought it to the gate and asked really nicely before boarding started if it was at all possible for my son to have a srat. They moved me to the last row and gave me an extra seat. No one wants to be near a crying baby, so they will try to accommodate you unless the flight is completely full.

Giving them something to suck on during take off and landing helps with pressure on their ears.

Also really early or really late flights tend to be less full, so there is more of a chance you can have an extra seat and have some space between you and other passengers.

Don't forget to hydrate you and baby either. I brought extra water with me and just told TSA it was for my formula. They have to scan each bottle, but will let you bring it on.

My sister-in-law brought her 6 month baby on a trip with us. She bottle fed her as the plane took off so baby was sucking with change of altitude to avoid ear issues. Good luck!!!

My husband waited to be one of the last ones to board the plane with my son. We learned the hard way being one of the first ones on was too much stimulation for my son to handle which ended up having melt downs on the plane. On the way back being the last one on he was pretty much napping by the time my husband took his seat and he napped on us, head on my lap and feet on dad's lap. It was also a night flight which helped because he was so tired.

I ported my baby on mi with my fullar he was only 1 mont old but I will do it again having my hands free was grate and he fall asleep a couple of times plus if you want to take him out the fullar stays on you, if you have to use the restroom he cames with you.zq
