How big were your twins birth weight?

Question

I am in the hospital because of my placentas are stage 3. I am 35+4. Both babies measured 4.9 pounds. I am worried because they are so small? Any positive storys?

We had  one boy weigh 5lb 10oz and the other boy was 4lb 9oz.
One got greedy and was taking the others placenta the last couple of weeks we imagine.
They were estimated ti be around 6-7lbs by 38wks.
The thing I can tell you is that our 4lb one was required to have a higher level of sugar otherwise they would send him to the NICU, he made it fine w/o NICU time.
Another thing is our hospital here in Chicago (Northwestern) has a policy of doing a car seat test for babies under 5lb, something unexpected and we had to buy a car seat with a 4lb start limit in order for him to leave the hospital.

Mine were 6lbs and 4lb5oz. The little one was in nicu as her blood sugars were low for a few days but at 4 months you wouldn't guess which one was smaller she's caught up so quickly!

I don't have twins, but my singleton was born at 5lbs even and she was perfectly healthy! No NICU time or anything. It sounds like your babies are great weights for twins!

I had my twins at 31 weeks 3 days. They weighed 2lbs8oz and 3lbs13oz. They spent 5 1/2 weeks in the NICU. They are now almost 5 months and weigh 13lbs and 15lbs.

We didn't need any NICU or stay any extra time at the hospital but the bigger twin struggled with learning to eat/latch for the first few days.

I had my twins at 35 weeks 1 day 8 months ago. My son was 4 lbs 11 oz and my daughter was 3 lbs 12 oz. my daughter immediately went to NICU. My son was with me til an hour later he was rushed to NICU bc he had trouble breathing. They only stayed for 17 days. Both now very healthy babies!!

My twin girls were born 2.5 months ago at 35+2. The first one born was 4lbs 10oz and the second born was 4lbs 14oz. Both did absolutely amazing had only went to the NICU for a 2 hour observation because they were 5 weeks early. Both girls did amazing and came home two days later when we did. Today both girls are about 9lbs each and meeting all milestones. It's hard not to worry about your babies, but try and relax and enjoy these next couple days bc it will be over before you know it. Twins are absolutely amazing so enjoy every single minute!
