IUDs copper vs. hormonal

Hey friends, I'm curious if anyone has ever switched from a copper iud to a hormonal one? I've had the copper iud for two years and my period and cramps seem to get worse and worse each month. I'm considering switching to the hormonal because it's getting to be unbearable and totally inconvenient.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if they've had any improvement in switching to the hormonal?
