I CAN'T ORGASM

I've had sex plenty of times, and I just can't orgasm. I've been told before "oh you just have to know what you like", but that doesn't help. I had a boyfriend for over a year and we tried everything and couldn't seem to get it to happen. Is it possible to just not be able to?
