incision bleeding 10 weeks postpartum

My C-section incision has been hurting quite a bit over the past few days, and it's also looked a bit swollen with fluid. Today my 10-month old kicked me really hard in the incision and I noticed later that it was bleeding with some yellow pus. I emailed my dr and he said to let it drain and to make an appt in 2 days if it doesn't get better on its own. He doesn't seem to think it's a big deal, but it kinda seems like a big deal!! Has anyone experienced this? Also (TMI) but a few days ago I passed a rather large blood clot, bigger than a golf ball. Not sure if that might be related. Any advice/wisdom would be great.
