McKenna-- induction story
Monday (3/20/17) arrived to the hospital at 7:20am for a planned induction with my stubborn baby number two! When I arrived the nurse checked me and I was 2-3cm dilated and 50% effaced and baby girl was still at a -2 station... . I started my IV with pitocin around 8:30am and the doctor broke my water around 8:40am. By 9:30am my contractions were extremely painful, but I was having cluster contractions so they weren't nicely spaced, the nurse checked me again and I was still a solid 3cm but I was 80% effaced. At this time I requested an epidural. The anesthesiologist came in and I had my epidural completed by 11 (took a while because of me and my fear of needles, and then we had to find the right dose so they both sides were equally as number). My nurse checked me again at 11:15am while putting in my catheter.. she said 5cm and 90% effaced. Now that the epidural was in I was relaxed, around 12:30pm I started feeling more pressure and I started getting nauseous, I called my nurse in to ask for an anti-nausea med, she decided to check me and SURPRISE! I was 10cm, fully dilated and baby girl was RIGHT there! She called the doctor right away, he arrived to the hospital around 1pm, 4 pushes and baby girl was born at 1:15pm weighing 7lbs 11oz and 20 inches long! Labor and delivery could not have gone any smoother! Baby girl came so quickly she came out with a bruised face and nose 😔
