For those that had an episiotomy or stitches after birth, how long did you wait to have sex afterwards?

Regardless of what type of birth, whether or not you have stiches, etc. The recommendation is to wait 6 weeks. Is it really that hard? Or is infection and other problems worth the risk? My god.

Its been 5 months and havent yet cuz im scared. I waited almost a year with my first (my poor husband😂) Tampons hurt so i was like no way his dick isnt going to hurt cuz its definitely a lot bigger haha

As soon as I'm cleared, around 6 weeks pp. My stitches have always been healed before then, I've torn with 4 of my 5 babies, but I still wait for the okay.

The 6 week wait is for your cervix to heal, and so you don't get an infection. When you have a baby, the placenta comes off then out. Well that spot where the placenta was on in your cervix is pretty much an open wound. This is what my midwife said.

I waited till past 6 weeks. I had a 2nd degree tear and felt like a born again virgin 😭😳
