how long does your baby take to sleep for a nap?

I'm curious as to how long it takes you guys to put your baby down for a nap. My baby's 2 months and sometimes
It takes me hours ( that's how it feels atleast ) after I feed him he won't sleep... or he will start to sleep but if I move he wakes up. Sometimes when I put him down the movement wakes him up. This is only
sometimes but pretty often. I know they say baby's take time to learn how to do things as I learn what works as well... but I just want to know if it's normal that it takes me long lol. I almost feel like it's my techniques idk. I try bouncing him , swinging him /rocking him, feeding him, laying down and nursing him ( usually wakes up from colic though) , music , white noise , etc.

I would also love to hear what works for you so maybe I can stay trying new things or sticking to some . Thanks

Are you sure your baby is tired? Mine doesn't sleep as much during the day now. He eats, "plays" (on his little playmat or bouncy seat or kicks his piano, we sing, watch his sisters, etc), then after an hour or so he gets fussy (tired fussy not bored fussy) and I change his diaper, swaddle him in a blanket and put him in his swing. He's usually asleep in a couple minutes and sleeps for an hour or two then the whole thing starts over.

One thing that will always work for me if my guy is fussing about going to sleep and I know he's tired if I strap him in the front pack and go on a walk outside. If the weather is bad I have a treadmill and I'll hop on that and within maybe 5 minutes of walking he's fast asleep.

After being awake for 1-1.5 hrs my 11 week old starts to show signs of being tired.  I then bring him upstairs to his room which is dark.  I turn on white noise and then bounce him on the exercise ball.  He usually falls to sleep in just a couple of minutes.  I then lay him in his crib or rock n play.  Problem is is he wakes up 30 mins later and is really fussy because he's still tired.  Sometimes I can Soothe him back to sleep, sometimes I have to pick him up, other times he won't go back to sleep at all.  He used to sleep for 1.5 to 2hts!  Now I can only get him to sleep that long if I'm holding him.

I don't put my 9week old down for naps. I follow his cues. I let him nap when he falls asleep, and play with him if he's awake. Sometimes he wakes up right when I put him down, and then I'll try to bounce or rock him back to sleep, but if he doesn't fall back asleep- then playtime it is.

I was having the same problem until I discovered the Boppy Newborn Lounger. I still rock him to sleep but when I'm ready to out him down, he goes down without a fuss and stays asleep for 45min - 1 hour.

My little guy is the exact same!!  I need to figure out a way to get him down faster too!  I know he's tired, cause he will yawn like crazy.

My 8 week old has the same issue. If she keeps falling asleep and waking up a few minutes later, I put on white noise and/or swaddle her and put her in her swing or her bassinet, and she'll usually go down for a 2-3 hour nap.
