Stubborn Baby

So I'm 39 weeks and my cervix is still closed and baby hasn't even dropped yet!! This is my first pregnancy so I'm not really sure how this all goes! Does anyone have any insight on this or things that I can do to help along the process?? I feel so big already and I can't imagine my belly hanging any lower than it is now but apparently I have a ways to go it sounds like! I feel a lot of contractions, my stomach tightens a lot and I feel it in my back sometimes! Any guesses on how long it might take for baby to drop or my cervix to open?
