GENDER IDENTITY: A fun experiment
The human brain is programmed to recognize patterns. The next time you're out for a walk, notice the way that you automatically gender the people who pass by.
Take a moment to try to unpack the way your brain categorizes people by gender. Do you first notice hair, clothing, or something else?
Next, make the effort to reverse the gender that you think belongs to everyone you see. If you would think of someone as female, reconfigure them in your mind to be male.
It's a lot of fun to play around with the gender binary!
