How long do you wait?

My period is now 5 days late, (supposed to have started Saturday) according to this app I've missed it completely. But I have taken 2 tests and they are both BFN. I normally cramp before a period but have not yet. I just started getting tender breasts yesterday. This is driving me crazy!?  My dh thinks I should go to the dr but I don't want to go to early and look ridiculous. What should I do? I am so impatient, I just want to know so I can move forward, either keep trying or start planning...
