Everyone has different things they stick to what's yours?

When do you decide it's ok to take baby out? I have heard some people wait until the baby is 2-3 months old and I have seen people take them out as newborns.

I took our son for his first checkup at 4 days old and went to lunch and took my hubby for a haircut all that day.

We took him out to dinner a week after we got home. Only reason we didn't go out sooner was because of my pain.

I have never waited. The ultimate reason most people wait is because of germs but if you watch who comes close to baby all will be fine. You can even put a car seat cover or blanket over the car seat and people tend to stay away. Now on baby number 5 there's no way I could stay in even if I wanted to lol.

I took baby to Sam's club to pick up prescriptions right after being discharged. Couple weeks old I took him out to family lunch. Shortly after that, grocery store. We also did family/friends houses shortly after he was born, especially since he was born shortly before Christmas. If in public we kept his car seat cover down so no one stuck their faces/hands near the baby. And if any family or friends were sick we avoided their house.

I took my son out at 2 weeks to the grocery store and he's been out a few times since then. I'm a single mom and I just needed to get out anyway lol my son is 5 weeks and has yet to get sick

I waited about a week and a half. I was told the earlier they are exposed to germs and such the better their immune system will be.
