Anybody else's doctor tell them they will not induce them?

My dr told me last Monday after checking my cervix that he will not induce me unless I'm a 3-4 and completely thinned out. I'm still closed and high and thick. He told me that I might as well just plan on going over my due date. 37+6 weeks.

Going over your due date is totally normal!! Don't think an induction is easy.  I was induced at 41+3 and was only at a 1 when we started.  The process was horrible and ended up a c-section.  Letting your body give birth naturally is the way to go.  Don't rush it - although I know we're all impatient at this point!!

You have a smart doctor. Inductions are becoming so common and there's a lot of babies who have come out before they are ready lately because of it (including one of my friend's... no NICU stay, but she was TINY and not quite ready). It's much better for your baby if it waits until it's ready. I'm at 36 weeks and hoping I have the baby soon as well, but I know that it's actually way better if we wait until baby is ready to make its entrance.

My doctor will induce me, but only once I hit 42 weeks or if something goes wrong and baby needs to come out.

My doctor said I can be induced. So I chose  march 30th. I'll be exactly 39 weeks. But in the mean time I wanna induce labor myself because I really don't wanna be induced. I've heard and read that is more painful. So I'll try anything I can to get this labor going before Wednesday. Omg Wednesday is like around the corner!!! I'm getting anxious. More because of the induction than anything else.

I would not want to be induced before my body was ready. That's when things tend to go wrong and you end up with an emergency C section or other complications.

It's best for baby to stay in until he or she is ready, and going over your due date is normal, unfortunately. I'm 39 weeks and only 1 CM dialated with no signs of baby engaging or showing any interest in leaving her squish cave... trust me, I hate myself for saying these things 😂 I'm miserable and impatient. But that doesn't change the fact that it's not recommended that you be induced (unless medically necessary) before 40-41 weeks.

My husband is overseas  for a while and he will be here only for 14 days from 39 to 40 weeks of my pregnancy we really want the birth happened in this time frame 😐 🙀💝

I've never been told I couldn't be induced. With my son I was induced with the recommendation from my OB. 10 hours later my son was here. Pain was a lot worse with an induction but I didn't it natural.

Inductions suck. I had one with my first and it lasted 28 hours before I had a csection. I had mine at 41 weeks instead of 42 because my blood pressure spiked. I started at nothing, not dilated at all, not even effaced at all, high and thick. As much as it sucks to go over I would go as long as you can. I've scheduled a csection this time for my due date, and I'm hoping I go into labor before then, but if not then oh well. My doctors WILL NOT induce me because of my prior csection.

If you are closed and they do induce you at 42 weeks talk to your doctor about foley bulb, it's medicine free and will help thin, and dilate you to 4cm. It can take 45 minutes (like it did with me) or it can take up to 5 or 6 hours.
