what can i take for a decongestant that's safe for breastfeeding and pregnancy since i'm 18 weeks, and i'm ebf my 7 month old.

Sudafed is safe to take. My doctor also told me to take Benadryl or Claritin for relief. If you are unsure, I would reach out to my doctor and ask for their recommendation.

This has been a struggle for me this me this trimester!
I'm really trying to avoid any medication.
I do notice that saline solution and nasal decongestant strips during the night work wonders.. but only help through the night.

According to my safe medication list you can take Sudafed  (pseudoephedrine) in the second and third trimester. You should not take it in the first trimester, or while breast feeding. I think you can also take unisom as it is also prescribed for morning sixjness

Unfortunately I don't think there's any kind of decongestant that's safe. 😞 I think it's because decongestants constrict blood vessels which isn't particularly a desired effect during pregnancy! Is the swelling because of snot/boogers (fancy words here) or because of swelling in the nasal tissues?
