Blood tests?

Has anyone contacted their doctor to request an HCG blood test prior to their first appointment?

My first appointment isn't until my 8 week mark (April 27) and I'm toying with the idea to get blood work done just to see where my levels are at.

Has anyone done this? Or is that too much?

I was told by the nurse at my OB/GYN office that the blood test prior to your first visit isn't necessary unless you have at a MC or really irregular periods.

I had tests yesterday because I spotted over the weekend. My HCG was 633 at 17 DPO and he said progesterone was good. I'm going back in a week for another HCG draw. Had I not spotted , I probably would have just seen him at 6wks

When I called yesterday to make my appointment they told me I could just walk-in the office anytime to confirm the pregnancy by urine or labs, my choice. I'm thinking I'll go next for a blood test just to get peace of mind that it is actually real. My husband and I both are still in denial. I would say go for it if you want! It seems like a your preference kind of thing.

My dr made me get a blood test before they will book an appt. I just figured that was protocol but maybe not. It couldn't hurt to get your blood work done
