Serenity Rose 🌹
Was scheduled to be induced Thursday 3/23/17. Woke up Wednesday morning around 5:30 am feeling like I needed to go to the bathroom. As soon as I stood up I felt a gush of something, and went to the bathroom. Wasn't sure if it was my water or if I peed a little. It was only 1 small gush. Called the hospital, and they told me to put on a pad, and walk around to see if anymore comes out. Just a little bit more came out, but about 10-15 minutes later I started getting small contractions. I woke up my fiance and told him we should get things ready, and get ready to go to the hospital. Within 10 minutes my contractions were even stronger, but bearable. We get to the hospital, and I'm in the room getting looked at to see if it really was my water, and the lady tells me it definitely is and she didn't even need the test, and that i was also dilated to a 5. By the time I got my delivery room is was 9 am. Contractions were getting stronger, but they weren't the worst. Around 2 pm the lady asked if I wanted the epidural, and I told her sure since I know I wanted it for delivery. I got the epidural (which isn't even bad at all I was so scared I was shaking while getting it and I didn't even feel it happen at all). Around 5 pm my nurse checks me again, and tells me I'm at 10 and she needed to call the doctor. She has me do a couple practice pushes, then has me pushing for real. My mom was holding 1 leg, my fiance was holding the other. After about 35 minites of pushing my doctor comes in, and takes over what my nurse was doing. 5 minutes later she's crowing, and the doctor tells me one more big push and we will have a baby. At 6:02 pm 3/22/17 Serenity Rose was born 7 lbs 7.4 oz, and 20 in long. She was born with the cord wrapped around her neck, and wasn't breathing. They whisked her over to the little baby bed, and started cleaning her and rubbing her to make her breathe. She finally screamed. They were concerned because she sounded really congested so they made her cry for a good 15-20 minutes to try to get it all out. I had a little over 12 hours of later total. The next day they tell me that shes breathing weird, and have the NICU doctor look at her. She comes back and tells me that she may have a heart murmur, and take her away up to the NICU for the rest of the day, and night. I waited for 5 hours before I heard anything back from anyone about her tests, and if she was okay. I finally got to see her, and was told everything was fine but they were going to monitor her for the night. The next morning she comes back to my room, and everything was perfect. They told me she was a little jaundice, but that it didn't need treated. Friday the day we were suppose to get discharged the tell me that her jaundice is now in the 95th percentile, and she has to stay in the hospital for the night. I stayed with her, and she hated the mask over her face so I sat by her side the entire night trying to comfort her. The next day they come to do her blood work at 6 am, and by 11 we were told she could get out from under the light because now it was in the 40th percentile. Finally was told we could go home around 6 pm saturday night. And I'm so happy with her, she's beautiful and all I ever asked for ❤❤
