trying for a baby after ectopic

When I was 15 I miscarried, when I was 17 I had an ectopic and lost my tube on the left side of my body, and had an emergency surgery almost costing me my own life. Those were unplanned pregnancies but now we want to try to get pregnant. I'm 19 now, I am on the patch. What are the chances of me being able to get pregnant again? And how long until the side effects ware off from my birth control so that I can start trying. Is there any other tips you guys have? Please help.
