UPDATE. OUR BABY WITH ANENCEPHALY

Well I wanted to post an update on our baby girl Aubrey Mae I was diagnosed with anencephaly @10weeks I'm a first time mom @19 so when I received the news it was pretty hard to comprehend for me and my boyfriend. When we went to go see the high risk pregnancy doctor @14weeks her heart beat was 143 bpm after he had explained to us what anencephaly was and that the outcome most likely would be a still born or she would be brain dead. I asked him if the baby had grown since the first ultrasound we had he said yeah she had grown. Than he proceeded to ask me if I wanted to go with termination. The only thing that popped in my mind was that this baby had a beating heart and a growing body who was I to take that away? So we continued. I felt every little kick, every little hiccup, the heartburn I guess all the works that come with pregnancies. She kept growing her heartbeat stayed strong. It wasn't till this past Monday my water broke @34weeks I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl @630am Tuesday morning the first I heard was little cries coming from her little mouth. The nurses cleaned her up and gave her to me. I couldn't believe it. I was holding her. The most precious thing in my life she lived a long an strong 13 hours she did everything the doctors told me she couldn't do. Brain dead my butt. She had mobility in her body, she peed, she smiled so big when I would rub her cheeks, she burped, her favorite part was her bath and the fact that her dad was able to help wash her hair was incredible. She just defined all the odds! I couldn't be more proud of her. With this being my first pregnancy there is nothing I would change about it. It was the greatest experience of my life.❤
