Experiences with depo?

I was taking depo for about 7 years straight. I recently stopped in October (so about 5 months ago) because my husband and I want to start trying for a baby. My periods are finally becoming regular again. Any idea on how long it might take to become pregnant? I'm scared I'll never be able to have children now because of all the stuff I've been hearing.. What was your experience like?
