laryngomalacia
My baby boy is now 12 days old! When he was born the Drs took him up to the nicu because he was struggling for breaths and making high pitched sounds. They monitored him for 2 days and decided he was well enough to go home and have a follow up at a later date with ENT. Once we got home his breathing got progressively worse over the week so we ended up being sent to the er where they told me he has bad reflux and laryngomalacia but he should grow out of it. They monitored him overnight and took X-rays and have basically told us to watch him closely and make sure he doesn't stop breathing and if he does they will look at doing surgery. My little man gasps for air when he feeds and can barely get a crying noise out over the high pitched squeeks and we've been told that it's going to get worse before it gets better. Has anyone else dealt with this? Or have any advice?
