My baby girl is 5 days old. My nipples are sore and cracked.. The hospital suggested feeding her every 2 - 3 hours for 20 mins on each side.. My gynaec suggested 10 minutes on each side every 2 hours.. Right now my baby girl feeds for 40 minutes every 2 hours but she's still hungry sometimes after.. My nipples have really taken a beating.. More often than not I can't go the full 40 minutes without bleeding.... I've been using a nipple shield for feeding but I'm wondering if baby's intake is affected because of it?? Everytime she feeds she goes through 2 diaper changes.. Is this normal???
