why are some smokers so inconsiderate of others?
I've been dealing with this my whole life, I am not a smoker and can't stand the smell or to have to breathe it. But none of the smokers in my life give a rat's ass. They don't care if I can't go outside while they're smoking (like when we're all in a car) or if I don't want to (like if it's cold outside), they just don't want to inconvenience themselves.
And no, I'm not in their vehicle or house. Like this weekend, I'm staying at my mother in law's because my husband and I are in town for him to work and we don't have anywhere else to stay. My MIL doesn't smoke and repeatedly asks my BIL not to smoke in the house, it irritates her lungs really bad, and especially now that I'm pregnant and here, but he just sits there and does it anyway. And like my apartment neighbors stand right outside my front door and smoke, and it comes in through the cracks so I can't even sit in my own living room. I have to go to my bedroom.
I believe my state is #1 or #2 in the US for smoking so I'm really a minority by being a non smoker. I can't go in and out of any public place without having to inhale it at the door. I'm sure not all smokers are this way, but I honestly don't know any that aren't. Is it just that they don't think it's offensive to breathe because they do it? I don't understand why they don't care that I can't breathe it in. I'm sure this will piss off smokers though so that's why I posted it in CC.
