Okay, so towards the end of my sophomore year in high school, I started on the Depo shot, but I was never consistent with it. I would usually never get my next shot after the 3 month period. But about this time last year, I started seeing my boyfriend I have now, so I went back on it. Over the past year, its progressively made my life hell. It completely killed my sex drive, it made sex HURT(almost like I was losing my virginity all over again every time we had sex), it gave me horrible mood swings, it messed up my cycle, and it made me gain weight like crazy. I didn't start connecting the dots until a couple months ago and I did some research and found other girls with similar problems. I decided not to get my next shot, so I haven't been on any birth control for about the past 2 and a half months. But I want to go back on it again just to have peace of mind since my boyfriend and I don't use protection, he just pulls out, and I personally like having him finish inside me. I just wanted to get some input on the best birth controls that have worked for people. My main concern in my sex drive not being decreased and not being in pain every time I do want to have sex, lol.
