Period only every 6 months?

So my 1st period EVER was August 1,2016 and my last period was March 1,2017 that's about 6 months.Im so scared...what do I do??Is this some type of medical thing??Is this serious...I just turned 13 February 14...is it because I'm young???I DONT KNOW

This could be due to stress or because your body is still regulating as part of puberty or you could have a medical condition causing this such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (pcos). Regardless of the cause, it's important to be aware of your body and talk to someone about it (perhaps start with your mom or other adult figure) and then a doctor (a gynecologist, if you're comfortable).

I had my period for 2 weeks once, yes, bleeding 2 weeks straight. A while after that, I went 3-4 months, no period. I was in high school when this happened. I was a ballet dancer at the time, and the class was getting more and more intense. From the stress of that and being athletic, it completely messed it up. So if you're athletic, it can sometimes mess you up. Plus your body is figuring out what it wants.

Yes it may take a little bit for everything to get regulated so it'll happen every month like normal.
