Over feeding??

Is it possible to be over feeding a bottle fed baby? Is there any harm??

I breast feed and then at night I do bottles .

My doctor told me there is no such thing as overfeeding a baby. If he's taking the bottle then he is hungry, unlike the breast he might b using it for comfort.
If he's not hungry he won't take the bottle.

Yes. You can overfeed a bottle fed baby. But you cannot overfeed a breastfed baby! I was doing the same as you - giving formula at night. My baby is 18 days old. Then I went to see a lactation consultant and she told me to stop with the formula. It's been 3 days that I've been exclusively breastfeeding and I absolutely love it. Night time just put baby in bed on the breast and that's it. No boiling water, no sterilizing bottles, etc.

If baby is spitting up you could be overfeeding. Look up paved bottle feeding. That's the best way to make sure you're not.

The pediatrician told us that it is nearly impossible to overfeed a baby. It can happen but it is very improbable. If you listen to your baby's hunger cues and satisfied cues your baby will get just the amount they need. We only bottle feed and she has certain things she does when she wants to eat. Her hunger cues also have levels. First if she is sleeping she will get very restless. Then when she wakes up she will turn her head all the way to the side and open her mouth really wide. If we somehow missed those she because to chew/suck on her hands and anything else she can get to. If she isn't fed by then that's when the crying would come in. She also will spit the bottle out and turn her head if she is full or just fall asleep and stop sucking. If she finishes the bottle we will put the nipple against her top lip. If she opens her mouth she wants more. If she doesn't or turns her head she is done. We were told to feed on demand and every time we have been to the doctor she was growing exactly as she should.
