How young is too young to get married?

I'm writing an essay for an English class and my topic is "How young is too young?" I wasn't sure which group to put this in, but in YOUR opinion, how young is too young to get married? Does it really matter?

Below 18 is too young in my opinion. Past 18 it's not really so much about age anymore as it is about having the financial means to get married

By legal means, under 18 is of course, too young. However, in reality, I think that anyone below 20 is too young. Even 20 is pretty young. In my opinion, the best age to get married is late 20s or in your 30s to lessen the chance of divorce. However, age wise, when teenagers get married, they're usually too young and can't handle the responsibilities of marriage and usually get divorced. At least when you're 20 you have at least matured some.

Under 21. Although I'm 20 and still couldn't imagine getting married at 21. There aren't many people who are financially stable and mature enough for marriage before that age. Even after 21, some aren't. Marriage shouldn't be rushed it's a lifelong commitment, idk why people rush it and get married so early. I've seen many a marriage crash and burn because they got married at like 19 and had only been together a few months or a year.

Well, my parents married at 21 and 24 and are still married over thirty years later.  But two of my very close friends got married young (one couple when they were 18 and the other couple when they were 22 and 23) and both of them had babies young and then divorced a little while later.

I got married at 28 and my husband was 25.  We're still relatively new at marriage (our third anniversary is this May), but we've been very happy so far, even through a 10 month deployment and then moving to a different country.

So honestly, I'm not sure how much she has to do with it.  I think it's much more about how forgiving, loving, mature and thoughtful you are rather than age.  I think it's hard to be mature and confident enough to be married when you're in your very early 20s, but people mature at all different rates.

Under 21, I'm 38 my guy is 27 and he's still not ready for marriage maybe by the time I'm 40 or 41 . I think it's better to wait until you have your own place and don't need to be financially dependent on anyone but yourself. Money usually the lack there of and family, your kids, your in laws either trying to raise your kids, telling your wife she doesn't know what she's doing, interfearing and causing fights or them siding with their own family over you. Those are the biggest reasons for marriages not working out. You need to be stable financially, emotionally, marriage is a huge responsibility.

My mom got married when she was 19 and my dad was 21. They've been married 27 years and act like newlyweds. It's pretty disgusting. But at least they love each other.

Definitely under 18 is too young, but also under  21. Like I couldn't even imagine not being able to drink champagne at my own wedding.. but idk it just depends. Some 18 yr olds can be more mature than some 25 yr olds but not many or really any that I know, but if you're ready, you're ready I guess. Some people also don't care about a big wedding. The main reason I want to wait a while is well cuz I'm 20 and me and bf have only been dating for about 2 years and we're not financially anywhere and I'm in school and we're both figuring ourselves out. Once I graduate at least with my bachelors and we're on track for our careers at least a little and we can afford to move out of our patent's houses and can afford a huge, spectacular wedding and can then plan to start a family, then we'll get married. Everyone has different priorities though, so it's kind of a hard question to answer.
