Hubby assigned all the kids chores.... each one of them is responsible for a certain common area of the house... I ended up doing all of the chores today... now hubby thinks they did a great job and rewarded all of them with money should I say something or should I let it slide... I did the deep cleaning earlier today and made them maintain it throughout the day and they have to keep it clean while on spring break..

I think you should tell your husband what really happened for many reasons. 1. While it's a small fib, you are still holding back the truth from your husband and letting the kids think that they can fool their dad 2. It's important that your kids see you and your husband as a united front 3. You don't want them to think they can be rewarded for not doing a good job and someone else will pick up their slack, since that's not how the real world works.

It's best to be honest in my opinion, only then will the kids also learn & truly make an effort, otherwise they might continue to not do their bit and expect to get paid.

I'm with Sabrina on this. Best to say something, though your name will be mud with the kids, they should have owned up. If they want to keep their pocket money or go anywhere in the holidays then they have to do some more chores maybe? My 13 yr old son was asked to wash the car yesterday so he could have credit for his mobile phone. It was such a half hearted bad job he ended up mowing the lawn and is gonna have to rewash it next sat. It wont hurt them to do more xx

He gave the kids money as incentive to keep up with the house, I wasn't home when he did give them money my youngest did tell him he didn't do his chores I did....
He also said he was aware the kids didn't clean cause it wasn't anything in the corners.....

He told them today that if it's not clean to the same standards he will not give them there allowance
