Zofran?

Hey ladies, I recently found out I was pregnant again. I had a miscarriage last November. For that pregnancy the doctors would not give me any zofran (nauseous medication). I found out a month ago that I am now pregnant again ( due november 2017). I went to my first appointment last thursday and they gave me a prescription of zofran to help with any morning sickness. I have read zofran can lead to birth defects such as club feet, cleft palate, and many more. Has anyone used it during their pregnancy? If so what was the outcome? I really appreciate it!

I used it my entire pregnancy for my son, my entire pregnancy for my daughter, and am now on it again and will be for this entire pregnancy. I would suggest looking at the studies done on zofran. It is, in my opinion, one of the safest nausea medications. It is also the other medication that would work for me. It was a life saver.

I have Hyperemesis Grav. And had to be on zofran with my last two pregnancies and this pregnancy as well. Both my kids are healthy and I'm praying this one will be healthy too! If your nausea is so bad that you can't eat or drink anything then in my opinion (at least for me) it's worth the risk, that being said if I could eat or drink and just had to deal with nausea and no vomiting I would choose not to take it.

Zofran has been around for ages and this thing just came relevant. All the anti nausea meds have been taken off the market for some reason. 
It all comes down to do you have the need for it. I'm throwing up more than half the day so it's worth it for me. 
If you and your doctor agree that it's a benefit, take it.

Yeah- zofran is not good while pregnant, why didn't they prescribe Diclegis? If you can't get it, my OB said try 1/2 tab of Unisom twice a day.

I took zofran for my entire pregnancy and my girl was fine. But I know now many docs prescribe diclegis

I took it my first pregnancy all throughout to be able to keep food down. My daughter had a heart murmur and an atrial septal defect, saw a cardiologist till 18 months. I later read it is linked to both. Can't say for sure of course but no way I'm taking a chance this time around.

My doctor's office no longer prescribes Zofran due to studies linking it to cleft palate. I was prescribed Promethazine (Phenergan) because the Unisom + B6 (Diclegis) wasn't working for me. I'd ask for Diclegis first and if you still can't function (all day nausea, vomiting daily) then ask about Phenergan. It is commonly used for pregnancy nausea in Australia and the UK.

I took zofran with my second pregnancy. He is now a healthy three year old who can keep up with his five year old brother not only physically but academically as well.
