My bf is a grown man; he knows he's dating a grown woman, so why would my period make him mad?  It doesn't change anything that goes on between us.

Why would he? It means you're not pregnant, he should be thrilled. Any MAN understands that women get periods. If he doesn't, then he's not a man.
